Mr. Koneru Konappa who is MLA of Sirpur Constituency was the chief guest for the event. Other dignitaries present were Mr. Ashok Kumar – District Education Officer, Mr. Bikshapathi – Mandal Education Officer, Mr. Kasam Srinivas – Agricultural Market Committee Chairman, Mr. Athram Sanjeev – Sarpanch of Chintaguda, Mr. Srinivas Goud – Sarpanch of Kosini, Mr. Laxminarayana and Mr. Anirani – Headmasters in school.

The event took place in the presence of Mr. Arvind Vijay – Region Deputy director of Education, headmasters of 5 nearby schools namely Mr. Shekhar Jha – Paramvir Albert Ekka middle school, Mr. Sudesh Ekka – Middle School Kadru, Ms. Monica Devi – Primary school Turup, Ms. Rose Nilima – Middle school Baheya & Mr. Baidya Nath Mehto – Middle school Hesal. Other members present were Ex-civil surgeon of Jamshedpur, and seniors representing Annapoorna Trust from Jharkhand – Subba Rao, Babulal, Rajashekhar, Sridhar & Ashwini. Mr. Subhajit Roy Mukherjee – Regional Coordinator West Bengal who is also Founder & Project Lead of Sri Sathya Sai Arogya Vahini Trust & Mr. Chandan Kumar – Regional Manager Bihar & Jharkhand represented Annapoorna Trust.

Whitefield Ready is a volunteer driven organisation that has been working with students in five Govt. schools in Whitefield, Bengaluru since 2018. The volunteers teach English and Maths and also collaborate with other NGOs to bring in programs related to dance, art, music, and sports etc.

10 schools with a total of 858 children were selected as part of pilot project. Since it borders both the states, 3 schools are Marathi medium, 1 Urdu medium & 6 Kannada medium. 4 schools are situated in Nagansur village & remaining 6 schools are in the outskirts of the village. These schools have children mostly from migrant labourer families. Children are now provided biscuits & cookies for 3 days a week.

Serving in line with their mission of “Make India Hunger Free,” Feeding India joined hands with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust. As part of the initiative, this collaboration will feed children at Government schools in the state of Telangana. 1000 kits were delivered at 43 schools across Siddipet, Malleshwaram & Champapet and this initiative would continue on monthly basis.

Mr. A K Sharma addressed the gathering and said, “Proper nutrition for growing children is the need of the hour. The more these kinds of initiatives are taken, better will be the result in health and overall development of the child. These children are the future torch bearers of our nation. Our government is keen to support on the lines of National Nutrition Mission and its expansion in the state of Uttar Pradesh. I believe in Sathya Sai Baba & have immense respect for Him and His work. This is an important work which Annapoorna Trust has undertaken, ensuring proper nutrition to rural school going children. Giving my blessings for the program, I am keen on seeing this kind of work continue to grow.”

Mr. Ashish Bhardwaj felicitated Mr. A K Sharma with a memento and a shawl as a mark of respect during the occasion. Annapoorna Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Vishal Singh – Municipal Commissioner & Vice Chairman – Ayodhya Development Authority who supported and helped us by getting the necessary permissions from the government and administration. Last but not the least, the Trust extends its heartfelt thanks to officials from the education department and the teachers for extending their support.
