Launch of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix to Government School Children in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, 15th July 2022

On 15^th July 2022, Launch event of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix took place at Shri Surat Public Gujarati Middle School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur. A total of 1000 children in 9 government schools would be part of this project wherein SaiSure multi nutrient health mix with milk will be provided as part of morning nutrition.

The event took place in the presence of Chief Guest Ms. Nishu Kumari – Regional Education officer (REO), Dr Maheshwar Prasad – Retd Civil Surgeon, Jamshedpur along with Headmaster, teachers & students. Seniors & volunteers representing Annapoorna Trust from Jharkhand were Babu Lal Singh, Subba Rao, Rajashekhar, Ashwin Chhabra, Sridhar Raju, Rakesh Kumar & Akhilesh Kumar. Mr. Subhajit Roy Mukherjee – Regional Coordinator West Bengal who is also Founder & Project Lead of Sri Sathya Sai Arogya Vahini Trust & Mr. Chandan Kumar – Regional Manager Bihar & Jharkhand represented Annapoorna Trust.

On this day of launch, the children were given SaiSure. Each child would be given 15 gms of SaiSure with 100 ml of milk all 6 days a week. Case study would also be taken up to study the impact of SaiSure on the children’s health & growth. A medical team from Arogya Vahini, West Bengal who were present during the launch took note of vital health parameters like height, weight, and blood samples of select set of children were collected. Post 3 months, similar exercise would be taken up to know the progress.

Annapoorna Morning Nutrition was launched on 08th July 2022 in Kagaznagar Mandal, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad District in Telangana state. The launch event took place at MPPS Chinthaguda Primary School & also MPPS Kosini Primary School. Morning nutrition program for a total of 780 students will be started in 9 schools in Kagaznagar mandal.

Mr. Koneru Konappa who is MLA of Sirpur Constituency was the chief guest for the event. Other dignitaries present were Mr. Ashok Kumar – District Education Officer, Mr. Bikshapathi – Mandal Education Officer, Mr. Kasam Srinivas – Agricultural Market Committee Chairman, Mr. Athram Sanjeev – Sarpanch of Chintaguda, Mr. Srinivas Goud – Sarpanch of Kosini, Mr. Laxminarayana and Mr. Anirani – Headmasters in school.

Annapoorna Trust was represented by Mr. Pradeep Kumar – Telangana state co-ordinator & Mr. Dhananjay Rao Ejapu – Manager in Marketing & Digital communication. Many active volunteers of Annapoorna Trust, Battu Mallesham, T Raghuveer Singh, P Murali, P Nagaraju, K Rajeshwar, Shankar, Devender, Laxman, Venkataswamy also took part and ensured the program was executed in a smooth manner.

On 09^th July 2022, Launch event of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix took place at Paramvir Albert Ekka middle school, Namkum taluk in Ranchi district. A total of 1000 children in 6 government schools would be part of this project wherein SaiSure multi nutrient health mix with milk would be provided as part of morning nutrition. On 15^th July, similar event for another set of 1000 students took place in Jamshedpur.

The event took place in the presence of Mr. Arvind Vijay – Region Deputy director of Education, headmasters of 5 nearby schools namely Mr. Shekhar Jha – Paramvir Albert Ekka middle school, Mr. Sudesh Ekka – Middle School Kadru, Ms. Monica Devi – Primary school Turup, Ms. Rose Nilima – Middle school Baheya & Mr. Baidya Nath Mehto – Middle school Hesal. Other members present were Ex-civil surgeon of Jamshedpur, and seniors representing Annapoorna Trust from Jharkhand – Subba Rao, Babulal, Rajashekhar, Sridhar & Ashwini. SaiSure health mix launch in Ramagondanahalli school in Bengaluru East in association with Whitefield Ready, 4th July 2022

On 4th Jul 2022, distribution of SaiSure multi nutrient health mix was launched in Ramagondanahalli government school in Bengaluru East. This is being jointly executed by volunteers from Whitefield Ready supported by Rotary Bengaluru IT Corridor in association with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust.

Whitefield Ready is a volunteer driven organisation that has been working with students in five Govt. schools in Whitefield, Bengaluru since 2018. The volunteers teach English and Maths and also collaborate with other NGOs to bring in programs related to dance, art, music, and sports etc.

GHPS Ramagondanahalli is one of the schools adopted by Whitefield Ready and it is in a unique PPP model with the Govt. of Karnataka wherein English medium classrooms are run by teachers appointed by an international school, Inventure Academy and also supported by Teach For India, a non-profit organization and volunteers from Whitefield Ready. The infrastructure upgrades in the school are mainly done by Rotary Bengaluru IT Corridor through CSR funds from various corporates.

On 2nd July 2022, Morning nutrition was launched at Basavalingeshwar Mangal Karyalaya in Nagansur of Akkalkot taluk in Solapur district of Maharashtra. Nagansur is situated close to the border between Maharashtra and Karnataka states. Prior to independence, Akkalkot was a princely state ruled by the royal Bhonsale dynasty. Akkalkot is also widely known for its association with Swami Samarth who was an Indian spiritual master of the Dattatreya Tradition.

10 schools with a total of 858 children were selected as part of pilot project. Since it borders both the states, 3 schools are Marathi medium, 1 Urdu medium & 6 Kannada medium. 4 schools are situated in Nagansur village & remaining 6 schools are in the outskirts of the village. These schools have children mostly from migrant labourer families. Children are now provided biscuits & cookies for 3 days a week.

Event held at Basavalingeshwar Mangal Karyalaya in Nagansur took place in the presence of Mr. Siddaram Mhetre – Former Home Minister of state, Maharashtra, Dr Abhinav Basavalinga Mahaswamiji – Basavalingeshwar Virakt Math Nangasur, Mr. Amol Raje Bhonsale – successor of Royal family of Akkalkot & Bhonsale dynasty & also the President Sri Swami Samarth Annachatra Mandal, Mr. Somashekhar Jamshetti – Maharashtra Kannada Sahitya Parishad State President. Ms. Geeta Raju Navindgi who is also an active volunteer at Annapoorna Trust was instrumental in getting this event organised. The Navindgi family are happy for having got an opportunity to serve their own community in their native.

Launch of Free Morning Nutrition program with “Feeding India” – Telangana – 02nd July 2022

Zomato and Feeding India’s association gave birth to The Feeding Foundation – moving from a primarily philanthropic relationship to a deeply collaborative alliance. Feeding India by Zomato has served over 15.3 Cr meals from 2019 till 2021 alone.

Serving in line with their mission of “Make India Hunger Free,” Feeding India joined hands with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust. As part of the initiative, this collaboration will feed children at Government schools in the state of Telangana. 1000 kits were delivered at 43 schools across Siddipet, Malleshwaram & Champapet and this initiative would continue on monthly basis.

Feeding India kits, sufficing for a month, were distributed to each location based on the strength of children in each school. Feeding India kit consisted of rice, channa dal, soya wadi, sugar, turmeric powder, chakki atta, salt & oil. Annapoorna kit comprised of urad dal, tamarind, lemon salt, jalakara, avalu. It is heartening to state that, Mid-day meal cooks have the privilege to prepare different varieties of breakfast every single day for children.

On 28th June 2022, SaiSure Morning Nutrition Program was launched in the holy abode of Bhagawan Ram in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This pilot project will cater to 1750 children in 27 schools. The event took place in the presence of Mr. A K Sharma, Hon. Minister of Urban Development and Energy, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Lallu Singh – Member of Parliament Faizabad, Mr. Rishikesh Upadhyay – Ayodhya Mayor & Mr. Vishal Singh – Municipal Commissioner & Vice Chairman – Ayodhya Development Authority. Mr. Ashish Bhardwaj – Manager – Operations, CSR Partners And Govt. Alliances & Ms. Shipra Chadha – Hon. Consultant, CSR Partner Alliances represented Annapoorna Trust.

Mr. A K Sharma addressed the gathering and said, “Proper nutrition for growing children is the need of the hour. The more these kinds of initiatives are taken, better will be the result in health and overall development of the child. These children are the future torch bearers of our nation. Our government is keen to support on the lines of National Nutrition Mission and its expansion in the state of Uttar Pradesh. I believe in Sathya Sai Baba & have immense respect for Him and His work. This is an important work which Annapoorna Trust has undertaken, ensuring proper nutrition to rural school going children. Giving my blessings for the program, I am keen on seeing this kind of work continue to grow.”

Mr. Ashish Bhardwaj felicitated Mr. A K Sharma with a memento and a shawl as a mark of respect during the occasion. Annapoorna Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Vishal Singh – Municipal Commissioner & Vice Chairman – Ayodhya Development Authority who supported and helped us by getting the necessary permissions from the government and administration. Last but not the least, the Trust extends its heartfelt thanks to officials from the education department and the teachers for extending their support.

On 23 June 2022, Launch of SaiSure Morning Nutrition Program in Puducherry for 25,000 govt. school children took place in the presence of Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan – Hon. Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Mr. N Rangasamy – Hon. Chief Minister of Puducherry & Mr. A Namasivayam – Hon. Education Minister of Puducherry at Raj Nivas, Puducherry.

Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai – Founder & Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust presided the event. Annapoorna Trustees Mr. Anand Kumar, Mr. Sai Prasad Ivaturi, Mr. Tallam Jayaprakash, Mr. Prabhakar Gupta & Mrs. Kusum Kunchaparty also participated in the event along with Annapoorna employees.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “I am also a devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba under whose guidance many social service activities were undertaken in healthcare, education & public works which is being continued even today. I recently visited a government school near Raj bhavan where I noticed the children looked very tired without morning nutrition. This multi nutrient health supplement called SaiSure shall be provided to school children along with milk. In the first phase, it would be provided for children between class 1 to class 5. This program is for all the children of Karaikal, Mahe, Yenam and Puducherry and would prove to be very beneficial to all the children.

On 15th Jun 2022, Morning Nutrition was launched in GHPS school in Bettakote village, Devanahalli Taluk in Bengaluru Rural by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust in association with Kempe Gowda International Airport Foundation. Kempe Gowda International Airport Foundation have always been on the forefront in serving local communities. They have been associated with Annapoorna Trust in serving morning nutrition to Government school children around Devanahalli since 2018. Now that COVID is subsided & schools reopened fully, Foundation has come forward to support solid breakfast for 1200 government school children.

Event took place in the presence of Manjula P S – BEO, Devanahalli, Hemanth Madegowda – CSR Head, BIAL, Prathiba Kulkarni – CSR Manager, BIAL. Ashish Bhardwaj – Manager – Operations, CSR Partners And Govt Alliances, Kiran B P – Regional Manager – Karnataka & Rajiv R represented Annapoorna Trust. Programme started with the lighting of lamp, followed by assembly and prayers.

Children were incredibly happy to get to know, they would again be receiving breakfast consistently post COVID pandemic. Proper care & planning were taken in making sure children receive different variety of food in line with local palate.

On 15th June 2022 Lions Club International joined hands with Annapoorna Trust in serving the rural children of Doddaballapur, Chikkaballapur and Bengaluru north at Government Pre-University college Doddaballapur. Lions are a global service network of volunteers that make a difference in their local communities. Lions Clubs in India are the second largest group of volunteers in the world after USA, with 6,335 Clubs and 2,35,000 members. Lions can reach out to help anywhere across the country, even in the remotest locations.

Whenever a Lions Club gets together, problems get smaller, and communities get better. That is because Lions help where help is needed. True to its vision, MOU was signed with Lions Club district 317F & Annapoorna Trust to support with multi nutrient Saisure health mix distribution in 26 schools for 2477 children in Kodigehalli & Hosahalli grama panchayats, Doddaballapur Municipality in the first phase. This would expand to 5000 children for the next three years around Doddaballapur, Chikkaballapur & Bengaluru north.

Launch took place in the presence of Lions District Governor 317F – C K Manohar Nambiar.
