Previously, SaiSure was provided to children in schools around the Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam campus (located in Maradevarahalli, Mandya district) before the COVID pandemic. Now with this relaunch, 6 government schools comprising of 200 children are provided SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix. Milk is provided by the government under the Ksheera Bhagya Scheme.

30481 students in 549 schools, spread across different mandals in the district like Antargoan, Dharmaram, Elgaid, Jullapalle, Kamanpur, Manthani, Mutharam, Odela, Palakurthy, Peddapalli, Ramagiri, Ramagundam, Srirampur, Sultanabad, would receive “SaiSure – Ragi Variant” (Finger Millet).

The launch event was held in Sri Ganesh Auditorium in Muttalli in the presence of Sri Govind Naik – President of Western Ghats task force, Sri Devidas Mogera – BEO, Bhatkal and Sri Sheshagiri Naik – Gram Panchayat President, Muttalli. Also gracing the occasion were the Chief Guest for the event, Sri Mahendra Hegde – Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Ananya Niketanam Gurukulam, Udupi and Sri Madhusudan Naik – Principal of Sri Sathya Sai Ananya Niketanam Gurukulam, Udupi. Representing the Trust, Sri Kiran B P – Regional coordinator of Annapoorna Trust, Karnataka, Sri Ram Shanbhog, who is taking lead in smooth execution of Morning Nutrition in Bhatkal, and Sri Prabhu, who is coordinating entire Karwar region supported by active Annapoorna Trust volunteers, participated in the event.

Ragi Cereals Health Drink with jaggery, would be provided to 168 students in 2 schools for 3 days a week. The Trust has already been providing Morning Nutrition in Uthangarai taluk of Krishnagiri district for 2800 children across 51 schools. Now, the program has been expanded into Hosur taluk as well.

In the launch event held at a government school, Education Department officials, Headmaster and teachers of the school were present. Representing the BNI Symphony chapter were Sri Harish and his wife, Smt Sudha. From Annapoorna Trust, Mr. Santosh Allath – National Manager of Annapoorna Trust and Mr T Saravanan – Annapoorna Trust Coordinator of Tamil Nadu, were present.

Since ancient times, Cuddalore has been a seaport used for trade and businesses. This district is prone to natural calamities like cyclones. It is named as one of the most backward districts in the country. The district is also one of the most robust fishing areas in the State and a home to a large number of fisher populations. It has also shown prevalence of malnutrition in children.
