With the govt. schools re-opening, the introduction of morning nutrition is sure to bring a positive impact, both for the school children and the teaching staff. Along with the support of the teachers and staff at Yerragondapalem & Markapuram constituency in Prakasam district, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust continues to expand free nutrition program for school children in this region.
In the pilot phase, 5000 to 7000 children at both locations will be provided with Ragi Malt – nutritious health drink made out of Ragi and Jaggery on alternate days. In a phased manner, all the 28,000 school children in Yerragondapalem and 31,000 school children in Markapuram regions will receive this morning nutrition.
Annapoorna Trust was represented by our Trustees, Mr. Anand Kadali, Mr. Sai Prasad Ivaturi, Mr. Jayaprakash Tallam & Mr. Prabhakar Gupta along with Mr. Surendra Babu – Andhra Pradesh co-ordinator.
Mr. Audimulapu Suresh – Minister for Municipal administration & Urban development addressed the gathering and said, “My humble salutations at the lotus feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba & Sadguru Madhusudan Sai. It is the noble idea of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust to provide nutritious food at Govt. schools in rural areas. The Trust is now serving more than 35,000 children in the state of Andhra Pradesh. My best wishes to the donors who are behind this noble programme of providing morning nutrition to more than 500,000 children in 22 states & 3 union territories. Annam has taken the form of Para Brahman for the hunger-stricken school going children who are being provided stomach full of food by this Trust under the guidance of Founder & Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust – Sadguru Madhusudan Sai.
On the same day, Morning Nutrition Program launch took place at Markapuram mandal as well in the presence of Mr. Nagarjuna Reddy – MLA of Markapuram constituency.
