On 1st August 2022, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust launched Morning Nutrition Programme in Nizamabad district, Telangana benefiting 3635 children spread across 22 schools. The children would be provided with cooked breakfast for 3 days and Raagi Cereals Health Drink for the rest of the 3 days in the week.
According to the latest National Family Health Survey (2019-21), high levels of malnutrition with anaemia is prevalent amongst children. It is a known fact that a diet with good nutrition is essential for a healthy mind and body. Good health also results in good immunity and good lifestyle. Children are considered as supreme assets of the nation. The future of a nation rests on healthy, protected, educated and well-developed children. In line with this, the volunteers of Annapoorna Trust relentlessly work towards achieving zero hunger and reducing malnutrition.
In the launch event, Mr Sainapuram Sumalatha Ram Reddy, Sarpanch, Mosra, addressed the gathering and expressed their gratitude to the Trust for their interest taken in these service initiatives.
Mr. Pitla Uma Sriramulu, MPP, Mosra, also appreciated the Trust for providing breakfast to more than 400 children which he mentioned as ‘a big task coming forward with a big heart.’
Shri Lakshmi Kanth Rao who is the Chairman, GHM ZPHS, Mosra said the children come to school every day from 9 different villages without having breakfast and thanked the Trust for providing Morning Nutrition which fills the children’s stomachs.
