Covid Preemptive Nutritional Intervention Programme for needy Anganavaadi children in Ramanagara district

17th June 2021

Annapoorna has come up with an innovative solution of a balanced protein based health supplement (SaiSure TM ) supplied free of cost that can be mixed with milk supplied by Govt of Karnataka under Ksheera Bhagya Scheme. This supplement meets the protein, calorie, vitamin and mineral requirements, as well as micronutrients for the growing children & has resulted in improvement in health parameters such as – decline in wasting, stunting, malnutrition and better BMI in children.

As a preventive measure to protect children from any 3rd wave of  COVID Pandemic, this SaiSure health mix is primarily focused to be given to Anganawadi, MAM (Moderately Acute Malnourished) so that they are less vulnerable to the attack across different districts in Karnataka.

On 17th June 2021, Launch of Covid Preemptive Nutritional Intervention Programme for needy Anganawadi children took place at Ramanagara DC Office in the presence of Shashikala Annasaheb Jolle (Minister of Women, Child Development & Empowerment of Differently Abled, Seniorcitizens, Govt of Karnataka) Mr.Ikram (Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Ramanagara) and Bharani Prasad (Director at SaiSure Nutritions LLP )along with other dignitaries.

Honourable minister was keen to know more about the Saisure product. Mr.Bharani Prasad briefed her as it is designed to meet the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of most of the Micronutrients. It is approved by FSSAI, India’s top food safety and standards regulatory body and is manufactured in a facility approved by the FDA (USA). This would increase resistance power to external elements & also would aid in increasing their body weight. She was aware of the Saisure being consumed across anganwadi & primary school children in Chikkaballapur, Tumkur, Dharwad, Mandya, Gulbarga, Vijayapur districts & also being consumed by MAM(Moderately Acute Malnourished) children in districts of Raichur & Yadgir. Due to the fact that it is easily scalable, cost effective & at the same time aiding in addressing the undernutrition & malnutrition in children in a short time, she was looking forward to expanding its presence across the Karnataka state.
